The Beta Trailer Is Live

Salvage County is open for testing. Here's what that means, and why we're doing it in the open.

Today Salvage County enters public beta in what we're calling trailer mode: a playable slice of the full game, opened early so real players can shape it while it's still taking form. You can pick a character, choose a truck, drive into the county, fill your bed with scrap, and sell it at the yard right now. It's rough in places, and that's exactly the point.

Why "trailer mode"?

A trailer shows you what a thing is about without pretending to be the finished article. That's the honest framing for where the game is. The core loop — explore, collect, load, haul, sell, save — is in and it works. The systems around it are at different stages: some are polished, some are being tuned, and a few are still on the workbench. Trailer mode lets you experience the heart of Salvage County today and watch the rest fill in over time.

What you can do right now

  • Create an account, choose a character, and pick a starter truck.
  • Search the city for steel, copper, aluminum, e-waste, appliances, and mixed scrap.
  • Physically load your truck bed and haul cargo to the scrapyard.
  • Sell for fictional in-game Salvage County Dollars and save your progress.
  • Try hosted multiplayer sessions as we test them (expect rough edges).

What's still cooking

We're being upfront about the work ahead. Driving and truck stability are getting steady polish. Save/load reliability is a priority. Multiplayer — movement sync, vehicle sync, shared scrap — is in active testing. And bigger-picture systems like missions, city life, and deeper customization are designed but not yet in your hands. The Roadmap lays out the order.

Your feedback is the feature

Opening early only makes sense if we listen. Bug reports, "this felt bad" notes, and "I wish I could…" ideas all land in the same place and genuinely change our priorities. The clearer the report, the faster we can act — the Support page shows exactly what to include.

One important note: Salvage County Dollars are fictional in-game currency. They have no real-world value, can't be cashed out or traded. The game is entertainment and a testing ground — nothing more, and we intend to keep it that way.

Thanks for scrapping with us

Every load you haul and every bug you report makes the county a little better. Jump in, tell us what you find, and help us build the game Salvage County is going to be.
