Systems & Mechanics

Game Features

Here's every system in Salvage County and exactly where it stands. Each card is tagged Available, In Testing, or Planned so you always know what to expect from the beta.

Legend — Available: playable now. In Testing: in the build but still changing. Planned: designed and on the roadmap, not yet in the public beta.

World & Core Loop

Open World

A connected city built for scrapping — alleys, dumpsters, empty lots, and buildings to sweep. Drive anywhere, plan your own routes, and decide where the good material is.

Available

Scrapping

The heart of the game. Collect scrap by hand, judge its weight and value, and physically load it into your truck bed. The bed detects what's actually inside it.

Available

Economy

Sell hauls at the scrapyard scale for fictional Salvage County Dollars. Different scrap types are worth different amounts, so route choice and cargo choice drive your income.

Available

Modes

Single Player

Play the full scrapping loop on your own — explore, haul, sell, and build your account at your own pace with no one else on the map. This is the most stable way to experience the beta today.

Available

Multiplayer

Hosted sessions where players share one world, see the same scrap, and haul side by side. Movement sync, vehicle sync, and shared spawns are actively being tested and improved.

In Testing

Vehicles & Progression

Vehicles

Your truck is your business. Choose a starter vehicle, learn its bed size and handling, and haul smart. See the Vehicle Guide for how loading, weight, and driving interact.

Available

Progression

Earn in-game money, save it to your account, and work toward bigger goals. Account save/load keeps your balance, character, and owned vehicles between sessions.

Available

Customization

Character selection is in now. Deeper cosmetic and truck customization — paint, upgrades, and loadouts — is designed and planned for future updates.

Planned

City Life

NPCs

Populated city life — pedestrians, drivers, and yard workers who make the county feel lived-in. NPC behavior and density are planned as the world is expanded.

Planned

Police

A rules-and-consequences layer for reckless driving or off-limits areas, giving the open world some stakes. This system is planned and not part of the current public beta.

Planned

Businesses

Scrapyards, shops, and services you interact with — starting with the yard where you sell. Additional businesses and upgrade vendors are planned as the economy grows.

Planned

Goals & Objectives

Missions

Optional objectives and contracts that give structure to a run — target hauls, special pickups, and payout goals — layered on top of the free-play sandbox. Planned for a future update.

Planned

Save & Load

Account-based saving that stores your progress, character, owned vehicles, and in-game balance so you can return and continue. Reliability is being actively hardened during beta.

In Testing
Honest by design: the beta ships the core loop first — open world, scrapping, economy, vehicles, save/load, and single player — while multiplayer is tested and city-life systems are built. Nothing here is a promise of a release date; it's a live picture of the game. Track changes on the Patch Notes and Roadmap.
