Frequently Asked Questions
The things players ask most, answered clearly. Still stuck? Head to Support.
Getting Started
Is Salvage County finished?
No. Salvage County is in beta trailer mode — a playable slice of the full game, opened early for testing. Expect unfinished features, occasional bugs, and systems that change as development continues.
How much does it cost?
The beta is free to play right in your PC web browser. Just open the Play page and wait for it to load.
What do I actually do in the game?
Pick a character and a truck, search the city for scrap, physically load your truck bed, and haul it to the scrapyard to sell for fictional in-game Salvage County Dollars. New here? Start with the Beginner Guide.
Technical
Can I play on mobile?
The beta is designed for PC browsers. Mobile devices may not load or run the game correctly, so we recommend a desktop or laptop for now.
Why does the game take so long to load the first time?
The WebGL build is large, so the very first load downloads a lot of data — this can take a while on slower connections. Later visits are faster because your browser caches the game. If a load gets stuck, use the in-game Refresh button.
Which browser should I use?
A current version of a mainstream desktop browser with WebGL enabled works best. Some browsers handle large WebGL builds better than others; if one struggles, try another.
How do I save my progress?
Use the in-game save and logout system before you leave. Your account stores your balance, character, and owned vehicles. Saving is being hardened during beta, so save after big sales rather than only at the end of a session. See the Single Player Guide.
Currency & Multiplayer
Are Salvage County Dollars real money?
No. Salvage County Dollars are fictional in-game currency only. They have no real-world value and cannot be sold, traded, transferred, redeemed, exchanged for cash, or cashed out.
Is there multiplayer?
Yes, and it's in active testing. The goal is hosted worlds where players share the same map and scrap. Movement sync, vehicle sync, and shared spawns may be rough today. Read the Multiplayer Guide for details.
Why is the server sometimes offline?
Multiplayer uses hosted sessions rather than an always-on server for everyone. When the shared server is down or being updated, you'll see a status message — that's normal during beta.
Support & Feedback
How do I report a bug?
Use the Support page or email Contact@SalvageCounty.com. Include what happened, what you were doing, your browser and device, whether you were in single player or multiplayer, and a screenshot or clip if you can.
Can I suggest features?
Absolutely — suggestions genuinely shape the Roadmap. Send ideas about vehicles, scrap types, scrapyard features, performance, or anything else through Support or Contact.
Will my progress reset?
It's possible during beta. Because systems are still changing, progress may occasionally be updated or reset for development or stability reasons. See the Terms of Use.
