Single player is the calmest, most reliable way to experience Salvage County right now. With no other players in the world, there's nothing to sync and nothing competing for scrap — just you, the city, and a truck to fill. It's the recommended starting point whether you're brand new or you want an uninterrupted grind.
Why start solo
- Stability. Solo play avoids the networking systems that are still in testing, so sessions are smoother.
- Focus. Learn routes, loading, and handling without distraction.
- Ownership. Every piece of scrap on the map is yours to take.
Session flow
A solo session follows the same loop as the rest of the game, just without other players:
- Load your account and choose your character.
- Pick your truck and head into the county.
- Run your route, loading the bed as you go.
- Sell at the scrapyard for in-game Salvage County Dollars.
- Save and log out before you leave.
Saving and loading
Your progress — balance, character, and owned vehicles — is tied to your account through the save/load system. Because saving is being actively hardened during beta, treat it with a little care:
- Save after big sales, not just at the end of a marathon session.
- Use the proper save-and-logout flow rather than closing the tab mid-run.
- If something doesn't persist, that's a valuable bug report — see Support.
Getting the most out of solo play
Use single player to build the muscle memory that makes every mode better: efficient routes, clean loading, and smooth driving. Everything you learn here transfers directly to hosted worlds when you're ready to try multiplayer.
